Impermanence is king
And we are underlings
Today you're in control
Tomorrow in a hole
Impermanence is king
And we are underlings
No matter who's on top
Aging will never stop
Impermanence is king
And we are underlings
Today you're in control
Tomorrow in a hole
Impermanence is king
And we are underlings
No matter who's on top
Our story begins like all the rest
One nation's desire to be the best
And it takes a swim through foreign blood
Dragging corpses through the mud
Destruction of their homes
Their culture and their bones
They say it's required lest we be killed
If our grandest dreams can be fulfilled
Perhaps there's too much on the line
There's too much on the line
If our main defense is a threat of end-times
Push the button, blow us open
A new chapter dawns, the pages turn
But omitted are the towns we burn
We look to our flags like they're our gods
Protecting us from a junta's death squads
We sing our songs of unity
We join our hands as one
As we subjugate those who don't fit our beliefs
Lock them far away where we can just forget
There's far too much on the line
There's too much on the line
In an empire that rejects changing tides
Time ain't flowin', eyes ain't open now
Impermanence is king
And we are underlings
Today you're in control
Tomorrow in a hole
Impermanence is king
And we are underlings
No matter who's on top
Aging will never

Rip Off the Bandage
03:31
|
|||
Time won't heal all wounds, but it grants perspective in spades
Change is coming soon, will you see it or are you afraid
The clock is ticking away for you, there ain't no choice but to make a move
It's your fight
They're betting all in on you to lose, but there is so much you've got to prove
Don't lose sight
Rip off the bandage, you can't turn back anymore
This is the moment you have been preparing for
Off with the gloves and leave an impact, put all your power in the contact
Give it the best you've got tonight and you will score
Change is coming soon, do you accept it or stay in the womb
You cannot live within what you've lost, it doesn't pay to keep counting costs
I have tried
What's done is done and what's gone is gone, don't overthink the phenomenon
That way lies destruction
Rip off the bandage, there is nothing left to save
This is the day you ride upon a brand new wave
This ain't the end of your own story, run into the observatory
Your star is rising, go now to your brightest day
Please don't turn back after all this time
Your star's rising, let us see it shine

King of the Chosen Land
02:48
|
|||
The king of the chosen land, he has made a new decree
I cannot be criticized and I say you cannot eat
He don't care if you're in pain, if you're suffering
Your death grows his cult of personality
The king of the chosen land, he can choose the people too
If he doesn't like your face then you will be dealt with soon
Commoners out of sight and so out of mind
There is nobody he won't try to find
Agency is not a toy you snatch from a child throwing a tantrum
History will not be kind to those who made their own pets of equal humans
I hope that a change of heart's on the cards for you one day
It will not erase your crimes but it may just save your face
May you look in the mirror, have it destroy your bliss
As you see your country's greatest terrorist

Fragments
02:48
|
|||
Time will make a fool of those who say that revenge is the key
Reparations, ask for them in blood, and resentment you breed
Compassion is dead and love only lives in fragments
Just a hundred seconds, seconds 'til we gird ourselves for war
Never will the meaning diminish in just what we're fighting for
Putting faith in the unknown we'll cause our own demise
Death is standing all alone, no one left there to surprise
We believe that this whole world beyond our walls could end
That it could change us for the better, then we'd truly be the best
Only seventy seconds, seconds 'til we blow ourselves away
Too hubristic to choose a future where we live another day
Time will make a fool of those who truly believe they are gods
Reparations, ask for them in blood and you're only a dog
I said you are a fucking dog
Compassion is dead and love only lives in fragments
We have fifteen seconds, seconds 'til we gird ourselves for war
Never will the meaning diminish in just what we're fighting for
Putting faith in the unknown
The hundred seconds are over

In a Waking Nightmare
04:14
|
|||
Consciousness is setting in
With the pain, today begins
I'm running hours late on all the plans I made but I cannot move
Endless haze fills up my sight
Vines of apathy holding me tight
I'm rotting away and I cannot convey all the ways I've tried to cut myself loose
I'm lost in a waking nightmare
One question now, am I too far
Gone, tell me is there somewhere
I belong, is there someone left who cares
Shaky steps ahead of me
As I fall no one can see
I am too hesitant, otherwise reticent, to call out for help or let it show
In the final hour, struggling on the ground
Holding onto doubt, will I still be found
Time is running out, sirens all around
Can they save me now, am I coming back or am I down
It's not over
I'm back from the brink and I stared
At Death as they called my name, but
I have so much to do here
I must break free from the chain, I'm
Lost in a waking nightmare
One question now, am I too far
Gone, tell me, I do not fear
If I'm holding on only by a hair
